Peacock eyes

I just like this shot from today, a Peacock nectaring on buddleia, beautifully showing its four eye spots.

I'd be scared to eat him if I were a bird!

What a stunning photo :) Our buddleias are only just starting to flower so am hoping for more butterflies soon!

I gather Clouded Yellows are being spotted in the South of England. I've never seen one but I think they are occasionally seen in our area - do hope one comes your way!

Super photo! May I ask what camera you use? Thanks

Thank you all for your comments. Piers, I used a Canon PowerShot SX500 IS. It has got a 30x zoom that works well from 1.5 m, which means that I don't need to creep very close to butterflies for macro-like shots. Routinely I use a Powershot G12, and most of the photos in BugBlog are made with the G12
